About Us

Integral Environmental Solutions (IES) is an environmental regulatory consulting firm specialising in environmental contamination solutions and environmental risk management. Our services are provided to builders, architects, property developers, property managers, homeowners, demolition and excavation contractors. Our geographic service area covers Queensland, New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Australia.


IES founding Principal, John Pohl, has over 24 years proven expertise in the mechanical and environmental engineering field, sustainable development, contaminated land characterisation and remediation. John holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, and a M.S. in Environmental Engineering, major in Hydrogeology. Additional credentials include:

- Queensland EPA, Contaminated Land Certified (s38l of the Environmental Protection Act 1999)
- Certified Environmental Practitioner # 280, Environment institute of Australia and New Zealand (EIANZ)
- Petroleum Industry Contractors Association Member
- Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard (HAZWOPER), US EPA Certified
- National Ground Water Association Member, USA

John's environmental experience covers a wide range of industries, including industrial process control, waste minimisation, residential / commercial /military construction, and contaminated land consultancy services. Extensive knowledge and experience in the environmental civil works area also includes the following disciplines: bore drilling; geophysics; geological; hydrogeology; contaminant fate and transport; Computer Aided Design (CAD); computer modelling and GIS.
